Humans of New York began as a photography project in 2010, with the initial goal to create an exhaustive catalogue of the city’s inhabitants. Brandon began to interview its subjects in addition to photographing them, and to include short stories from their lives alongside. He created a blog, which today has over twenty million followers that provides a worldwide audience with daily glimpses into the lives of strangers on the streets of New York City.
